Welcome to gangletown’s “Monday Edition,” where each week you’ll receive original writing by David Kimple. If that is good for your vybe and you’d like access to everything gangletown has to offer, check out subscription options here.
So, here’s some pretty cool news: In just a few short weeks (August 31), Gangletown will be having its first birthday! It’s been a year of writings about everything from politics (yikes…), thirst (yums), puppies (yippies), and failures (yowza).
In year one, my principal goal with this thing was simply to do it. Publish every week, sometimes more, and to keep myself writing during a bizarre time in the world. That was it. Just write and publish every week. Overall, I’m feeling very proud of myself because I can see the finish line for year one, and I know I can get to the end, having risen to the occasion. You can read more about the original intentions of Gangletown by checking out the very first post HERE.
In year two, I want to expand my intentions and create something with a bit more strategy. I want to set a few goals to grow the Gangletown audience, refine the focus of the content, and prioritize quality over quantity. More than anything, though, I want to make this more about the Gangles. I’ve been doing this for myself, but I want to do it for you too.
I need you. I’d reallylike to hear from you! You’ve been reading, you’ve been Liking, Commenting, and emailing me back - what about Gangletown in year one did you love? What did you hate? What did you skip altogether?
Help me take Gangletown into a year two that is more focused, intentional, and for the Gangles by chatting with me in today’s thread. Comment and share your favorite piece(s), the things you didn’t connect with, and beyond. Maybe even just say hi, so I know that you’re out there (like the aliens).

Love you, my Gangles.
