Welcome to Gangletown, where you’ll receive original writing by David Kimple. If that is good for your vybe and you’d like to support the work financially, subscription options are below.
Hi Gangles. It’s been quiet in these parts for a lil’ bit, and my impulse is to apologize, but I’m going to resist the urge.
See! Resisting.
The reasons for my relative distance are endless, but it is mainly because my double-life as Writer David and day job-person (“Business David”) has been harder to balance lately. But let’s not vaguebook. Here’s the reader’s digest. In addition to the things we’re all managing, my day job company was acquired by another, I’ve been doing a freelance contract, I’m still in ‘school,’ and I’m writing a whole-ass real-life freakin’ novel.
After listing it all out like this during a session this week, my therapist said to me, “Why are you confused about why you’re so tired?”
All that to say, I’m not sorry. Really, I’m grateful for the abundance. But I am tired.
So, I have to remind myself a lot lately that balance is a never-ending action. Balance is not a destination or a completable task.
To balance, I’ll allow Gangletown to be published on a when-it-happens schedule until I have completed a full draft of the novel. Hopefully, that is just a couple of months from now, but I don’t have an exact date. Thanks for staying flexi, y’all.
Because of this, starting immediately, I will be pausing Paid Subscriptions; if I’m not reliably publishing, I don’t feel right about you reliably paying. You will not be charged. If you’re an annual subscriber, your membership will be extended past your annual renewal date automatically. I will give paid subscribers a month’s advance notice before restarting the payments.
FAQ: Does this mean I won’t publish at all? No. I might! I might, and I probably will. But it is going to be random. It’ll be here and there and maybe sometimes if/then vibes hardcore. You see me?
Okay, you get it. We’re balancing. We’re gangling. We’re not paying for the moment. We’ll gangle when we gangle.
That’s all. Everyone go take a nap.
Love you.
Proud of you!!! <3
What a wonderful abundance! Good luck with everything! We’ll be right here.
